48 hours in Prague

Why to visit Prague?

There are enough reasons for visiting Prague, but many guests certainly come to enjoy the Czech capital’s historic Old Town. More than 2,000 historic buildings have stories to tell from the city’s eventful past. The magnificent buildings give us a sense of why Prague is also known as the “Golden City” or the “Old Lady”.

48 hours are definitely not enough for the vibrant city of Prague, but perhaps they’re a good start for a new story:

Day 1: check-in, welcome drink, State Opera, night out

3.00 p.m.

Arrival and check-in at the 5-star Le Palais Hotel Prague.

3.10 p.m.

First impressions of the elegant hotel with a welcome drink at the bar.

4.30 p.m.

Time for an early start to the evening with a snack and a cocktail on the hotel terrace or in the cosy library.

6.30 p.m.

The limousine is waiting out front – ticket and transfer for a performance at the Prague State Opera have already been arranged.

9.30 p.m.

Ready for Prague’s nightlife? The choice in the Old Town is enormous – cool bars, clubs and restaurants with an even cooler atmosphere!

Day 2: Sightseeing, Lunch at Kolkovna, Café Louvre, Dinner at Le Papillon

9.00 a.m.

An exclusive breakfast buffet is waiting! The staff anticipates the guest’s every wish.

10.00 a.m.

On the agenda for today is historic Prague: the tour starts in monumental Prague Castle, where the changing of the guard at noon is not to be missed! From the castle, a path leads down through the romantic Lesser Side to Charles Bridge, alive with musicians, caricaturists and street vendors peddling their wares. The Old Town itself is the perfect place to enjoy a long shopping tour.

2.00 p.m.

Lunchtime – time to recharge with traditional Bohemian fare and a beer at the Restaurant Kolkovna directly in the Old Town.

4.00 p.m.

A visit to a coffeehouse is a must in Prague – and a classic is the Café Louvre. Opened in 1902, this café has managed to maintain the same time-honoured charm that has inspired the likes of Karel Čapek, Franz Kafka and Albert Einstein.

5.30 p.m.

Time for some time out – the hotel offers some truly over-the-top pampering in its exclusive Pure Spa.

8.00 p.m.

Well-rested, it’s off to dinner at Le Papillon or on the hotel terrace – away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the meal is a pleasure fit for a king.

10.30 p.m.

Another glass of wine or whisky at the open fireplace in the hotel library – then it’s time for a good night’s sleep.

Day 3: Health Club, breakfast, DOX visit

8.00 a.m.

Why not do something good for yourself first thing in the morning? Some exercise, a whirlpool and an aroma shower will get your circulation going.

9.00 a.m.

Now it’s time for breakfast. But let’s have it large and delicious, please! 12.00 noon Check-out. The luggage can be stored at the hotel.

12.30 p.m.

Still something special before we go: DOX, a centre for contemporary art in an old wagon factory in Holešovice, is one of the most progressive art projects in the Czech Republic. A must-see for lovers of art!

4.00 p.m.

Back at the hotel, the limousine is waiting for the transfer to Prague Airport, or the bellboy has already brought the car up from the garage.
