Things to see and do

Art, culture and more

Lodz, Poland’s third-largest city, is an economic, academic and commercial hub as well as a cultural centre with a lively atmosphere that includes some 80 festivals, for example:

The International Comics Festival is the biggest event of this kind in Central - Eastern Europe, which every year brings thousands of participants from Poland and abroad.

Culture tourists will enjoy the repertoire of the Grand Theatre, which prominently features modern works in addition to the classics of opera and ballet. The Powszechny Theatre draws the crowds for its musicals, burlesque performances, comedies, literary adaptations and social comedies. The Lodz Philharmonic is Poland’s second-oldest symphony orchestra.

Hungry for sport, music and other spectacular event experiences? Then you should certainly visit the Atlas Arena, the most modern hall in Poland.

Art lovers should check out the experimental exhibition space ms2, with its unconventional collection of 20th and 21st century art, the Film Museum in the Scheibler Palace or the Museum of the City of Lodz. The Detka Sewer Museum literally gives visitors a look at the city from the inside. The Central Museum of Textiles features everything related to the process of textile manufacturing, from materials to manufacturing techniques and technologies to textile products.
